Is research in India is going in the right direction?

Is research in India is going in the right direction?

what is research? in simple words research involves 4D's: Discover, design, develop and deploy.I think this is a good definition of research. we do have great institutes and talented people in our country but are we using there potenials to the full extent? How much did we contribute to the society? Is that all we could do?

Certainly the answers to these question are a big "NO". I am not neglecting the good contributions of our great scientist and technologiest rather I am asking what are the issues that are hintering us from doing better. By just looking at it we will find many reasons.
How the politics influences the research?
Most of the cases even the recruitments of experities are not dierect. It involes some kind of pressure from either polititians or other kinds. It can be be supported by N number of examples. As it is a common thing happening in India, I dont think anyone needs reference for that.
Vice chancelors, profesors and other staffs are recruited basedon the political party, caste etc they belongs.

Say no to criminals in election

It is very hard to digest that in 2004 Parliament elections in India, about one out of five MPs had criminal records. Around ~70% of them are even with charges of heinous crimes such as murder, rape, dacoity and kidnapping. Also the  The gap between the poor and rich is still widening though the Government is talking about "Shining India". It is high time for a change from this state which seriously challenges the developments in the country. So think twice before casting your vote. Vote to the one who can bring more developments to the country rather than to one who just gloss over. Cast the Vote based on the qualification of the candidate and not on the basis of political party or the religion.
